- EDI team focuses on the theme of the Metaverse. The research topic is Core Elements and Sustainability of Metaverse Creative Design. Therefore, project participants were invited from relevant fields, including animation, technology, science fiction, stage play screenwriter, architectural design, graphic design, and industrial design. At the beginning of the meeting, the group members introduce themselves and get to know each other.
- The team leader introduced the SEED UK-China collaboration project. Team members gain a understanding of the project background, objectives and timelines.
- EDI group plan was proposed. We need to deliver a set of interviews and workshops at the end of the project. Group members discussed specific work that can be done under the Metaverse theme.
- Everyone provided opinions on the workshop and interviews. The research content of the EDI group can focus on several issues:
-
- What are the core elements of metaverse design?
- The emergence of circle culture itself will lead to discrimination or conflicts between different circles, but the emergence of different circle cultures in the Metaverse is also another form of diversity?
- How to guide the communication and collision between different cultures through creative design, instead of increasing the differences and conflicts between different cultures?
- Will the digital divide in the Metaverse aggravate the phenomenon of inequity? Or will it promote the underlying fairness at almost zero cost due to the rapid development of the Metaverse technology?
- Everyone mainly exchanged their understanding of the concept of metaverse. The President of Shanghai Pudong Science Fiction Association shared that Metaverse is a part of the digital economy and the result of informatization which can help us understand the culture circle more efficiently.
- Some members suggested that the research results could be compiled and published in journal articles.
